Senior linebacker Glenn Cook is entering his sixth and final season as a Miami Hurricane as the season starts tonight against Charleston Southern. As a senior leader of the defense, Cook will have a very important role this season as Miami's middle linebacker and as mentor of the young linebackers on the roster. If there is one player who can tell quarterback Jacory Harris about what to expect in playing game one on the schedule as a true freshman, it is running back Javarris James. He didn't start the first game of his UM career in 2006 against Florida State, but he did play. And the memory of his first snap in that game still sticks out in James' mind.

Miami running back Graig Cooper is ready for the season to finally begin. He is anxious for the season to start for two reasons: he's a much stronger runner this year and his confidence is a lot higher going into this season after a very strong freshman season.
