DeMarcus Van Dyke, Brandon McGee, and Travis Benjamin.
It was only a matter of time.
And experience.
Miami football players Cory Nelms, DeMarcus Van Dyke, Travis Benjamin and Brandon McGee broke the school record in the 4x100m relay on Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta.
The foursome finished second in the race with a time of 39.60 seconds.
The school record in the 4x100 meter relay was 39.99 set in 1998 by Santana Moss, Robert Williams, Davian Clarke, and Daryl Jones.
This year's foursome ran a 40.15 last month at the Hurricane Invitational.
Nelms and Van Dyke are senior cornerbacks. Benjamin is a junior wide receiver who has over 1,600 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns in his career. McGee is a sophomore cornerback.
The Hurricanes now wait to see who will be selected to compete in the NCAA East Regional Championship that will be held in Greensboro, N.C. for the second consecutive season, May, 27-29.
